We are thrilled to announce that our recent Youth Exchange program has been beautifully captured in the documentary film “The Erasmus Generation”, directed by Vincent Imperato. This film not only showcases the breathtaking landscapes of the Rhodopa Mountains but also encapsulates the essence of the Erasmus spirit—unity, cultural exchange, and personal growth.
Vincent, a participant in our program, embarked on this project to illustrate the profound impact that Erasmus experiences have on young individuals. The documentary follows the journey of Roberto, one of the 15 million people who have participated in Erasmus over its 35-year history. Through Roberto’s story, the film delves into the transformative power of stepping beyond one’s comfort zone and embracing new cultures and perspectives.
The film has garnered significant attention and is set to premiere at several prestigious film festivals:
- Festival del Cinema Europeo in Lecce: November 11, 2024
- Roma Independent Film Festival: November 21, 2024
- The Hague Film Festival: November 23, 2024
These screenings highlight the documentary’s compelling narrative and its resonance with audiences across Europe.
The documentary is supported by INDIRE (the National Erasmus+ Agency of Italy), the Giffoni Film Festival, and Metiva Academy. Their support underscores the film’s significance in promoting cultural understanding and the value of international exchange programs.
